The SketchHaus Process
STEP 1: Initial Virtual Consultation
This free virtual consultation will help us learn more about your project and goals. You’ll also learn more about us and how we work to help you achieve your goals.
If we determine that we’re a good fit for each other, we’ll schedule a time to create a 3d scan of your home.
Through the use of point cloud technology, we will digitally scan your home capturing every detail in order to accurately create existing drawings. We pride ourselves in this step’s quick turnaround rate of 1-3 business days— our clients are continually amazed at the speed!
STEP 2: Digitized Scan of your Home
Our team will take the 3d scan of your home and turn it into a custom floor plan. Sometimes, we’ll even find extra space in a home that isn’t being used!
Once we’ve created your current floor plans, we’ll schedule our next consultation.
STEP 3: Current Floor Plan Creation
STEP 4: Visionary Consultation
The goal of this conversation is to dive deep and fully glean the details of your dream renovation and vision.
This consultation will be scheduled within 3-5 business days after our primary site visit, once you have received your existing drawings. When your vision meets our architectural design expertise, the sky is the limit.
STEP 5: Custom Plans and Drawings Delivery
After the visionary consultation, our residential architectural team will convert your current floor plan into a customized floor plan suitable for your house that meets your goals and dreams.
We’ll go over the drawings and walk you through the drawings.
Our goal is that you’re extremely excited and can take the drawings to builders to show them you’re serious, get comparable quotes, and know the exact outcome you’re going to get from the project.

Additional iterations, changes, or services beyond the scope of the project listed above will be billed at the hourly rate defined in the agreement.

Additional documents may include, but at not limited to, electrical diagrams, framing plans, plumbing diagrams, elevations, 3d views or renderings, reflected ceiling plans and site plans. Please consider that great design is the project of iteration. There are usually many ways to arrive at a solution, we will try our best to be a great steward of your budget and design intent.

In some cases, particularly with additions, pop-ups, or pop-outs, floor plans alone will not be enough information for a permit set. Additional information may need to be produced and will be completed at your request at an hourly rate. These may include but are not limited to footing details, elevations, roof framing plans, floor framing plans, wall sections, site plans, et al.

A survey may be required for permitting. It is preferred that the client have a survey before design commences but in some cases, it might be preferable to the client to proceed with design in order to prove the concept first. There is risk involved in this order of operation as there could be information provided in the survey that may change or prohibit the final design. SketchHaus by Taylor Workshop does not assume this risk or the liabilities caused by it.

Structural engineering, mep engineering, surveys, or civil engineering may be required for your project depending on the scope of work. If required, this will be sent to each engineer respectively, additional fees may apply.

Typically, an interior renovation is permit ready at the end of the SketchHaus, bundle. Additions, pop-up, or bump-outs are running in the ballpark of $2,400 to $6000 but greatly depend on the size, quality and complexity of your particular project.
